This is my new to me 2006 Taurus Gaucho .357 in matte stainless with 4 5/8" barrel.

This was from 10 yards, two handed, firing 158 gr .38 Specials.

Weren't big sellers

Don't know if it was prejudice against Taurus or quality issues. I tried to buy one from CDNN but they wouldn't ship to California(despite single actions being exempt from the dreaded safety testing list).
How has this one been for you?

Pretty sure it was quality issues, just based on the problems I've had.

Tad, I hope you got a good one and enjoy it. Even if it is a good one you might want to replace the base pin with a hardened one from Belt Mountain. Their Colt SAA pin is an almost drop-in replacement. You just have to grind a *little* off the end to allow for the transfer bar. That fixed a lot of problems with mine, and the pins are pretty cheap.

OTOH if you only shoot .38 Specials, the soft original base pin might not cause any problems for ya.

Those were the first six rounds I fired from it. I fired the rest of that box and a box of 158 gr .357's out of it with no issues.

I had heard of the Gaucho but this was the first one I had ever seen in real life.

When I saw the condition it was in and the price I could get it for, I decided right there that I was getting it.

I own several Tauri and have never had a problem with any of them, so I wasn't scared of it.

It is accurate.

I think it is a good looking six-shooter.

I like it.
