taurus aluminum guns

Having nixed the idea of their all titanium ones based on reading here and the local shop, I am wondering about the aluminum/titanium tauruses (taurii?). Handled a few. Cylinder play seemed a bit excessive to me. What are your thoughts?

I've got one, a .38 Special snubby, and I agree that the cylinder play is disturbing to someone used to a tighter lockup like a S&W's. In fact, I returned mine to Taurus for a checkup, and they tightened it a little, although not enough to rival my S&W's. However, it goes "Bang!" just as well as my other snubbies, and doesn't seem to have any lead-shaving or accuracy problems. IMHO, it's a gun to be carried a lot and shot a little...

I've got one of the aluminum/titanium 38's and it shoots and handles just as good as any of the J framed Smith's I've owned. The newer Taurus guns have really came up in quality.
