I don't have any experience with the Taurus, but I do have a .22 mag rifle and have a Ruger Single Six on order. I don't think you will gain anything over a .22lr, except muzzle flash and noise, in a snub. The barrel is too short to burn all the powder, so the velocity increase is going to be marginal at best. Out of a rifle the .22 mag has considerably more power than a .22lr. I got the Ruger with a 6.5" inch barrel. Hopefully it, and my purchase permit, will be here today or tomorrow. I'm pretty interested in comparing the lr to the mag out of it.
