Surprised you need a trigger job. Taurus' are improved Smith and wesson's anyway. They certainly improved on Smiths designs. Better springs, floating firing pin etc.
I paid a smith $125 to drill/tap for a weaver base and slick up the trigger. I don't shoot it DA, but it is very smooth. The SA pull is 2.7 lbs. I put a 3.5 moa JPoint red dot on it. It's my squirrel, rabbit and short range varmint getter.
I've never done open heart surgery on a revolver... I can disassemble my autos and rifles, but I've been scared to do so on my wheelguns.
Did you clip from the center, or from the outer band? Any good howto references you can point me towards? I swear my trigger pull is 25lbs DA on this gun... I would like it to be below 10 if possible.
Horribly nasty and heavy triggerpull. Changing the spring helped some, but then it had problems with reliability. I polished the internals, but could never get it even close to reliable. In addition, I wasn't too accurate with it. It was a shame too because I really liked the size and weight. I sold it for what I had invested and called it even.
I have a 4" 94 bought in 1999 I have fired many thousands of rounds through it. It had a great double action trigger out of the box better than any of the 10 S&W revolvers I own. It has a better trigger than my 1970 model 43 S&W kit gun.
I have done nothing to mine but clean and oil it and shoot it.
Like any .22 revolver I own, you need to keep the cylinder clean, and use a brush on the charge holes regularly, or you will get light strikes, and have difficult extraction.
