I'm considering one of these I saw in a local shop. Sure feels/looks nice for the price. Is there any downside to these?

I have one. (4" blue) The DA trigger is long and heavy, but that's pretty much par for the course these days. The SA trigger is fine. It's a good shooter. Really good for teaching new shooters along with my Ruger 22/45, Ruger 10/22, and Marlin 1894C.

I had one, and found the trigger to be very heavy and gritty. I put a "custom tune" spring kit in it, but could only go about 1lb lighter than stock before I had trigger reset and light strike problems. Also, the adjustable rear sight came loose every time I shot it. When the sight would stay put for a few rounds it wasn't as accurate as my other .22 pistols (22/45, Bisley Single Six). It also just felt too "dainty". I sold it.

I'm not one of those who're down on Taurus in general -- I have a 669 .357 that's one of my favorite revolvers, but my 94 was a dog. It happens with all makers these days.

I have a 94 4inch blue.DA trigger pull is heavy but SA ok.I replaced the rubber grips with Taurus wood factory grips which fit my hand better.Accuracy this is no match gun but could be to tuned for that task.I use mine for plinking and indoor target shooting.A couple of nearby indoor ranges only allow 22LR so it comes in handy.I bought mine in 2001 and fired thousands of rounds with no problems.Buy it.

I have several .22 pistols Ruger,Walther,Colt ect. but no revolver so idecided on a Taurus 94. I wanted it for a trail gun or plinking, like the others mentioned the D.A. is a little heavy S.A. is O.K. its makes a nice companion piece for my Taurus 62 rifle when i go out hiking.Overall i think its a great little gun for the money i paid $175.00 for mine L.N.I.B. and would encourage you to buy one if you haven't already.A Smith would cost at least twice as much and i don't see that much difference. Good luck shoot safe Gn Luver
