Taurus 85UL s/s

I've owned three Taurus 85's. Two were stainless (one concealed hammer, the other a standard "hammered" gun).

Now I own the Ultralite...by the way, I don't believe the stainless models are called "Ultralights". You are discussing the standard Model 85's.

I liked them all. The only downside to the stainless models is their weight. The weight of the stainless steel guns is about 20-21 ounces. The Ultrlight is about 14 ounces.

I carry in a front pocket (in a Galco holster). The weight of the stainless gun tended to drag my trousers down a bit. No problem with the Ultralight model.

Now, recoil is a bit snappier with the lighter gun, of course. But this revolver is not an everyday shooter. It is an everyday carry gun though.

So...if you're buying to carry...it's a good choice. If you're buying for home defense of any other reason, the stainless steel guns might be the better choice.

I've got the M85UL. Alloy frame, steel inserts in barrel and cylinder. Conceals well, shoots well. Excellent choice for concealed carry.

Buy with confidence....

I've owned a Taurus Mod 85 Ultralite found it very comfortable and accurate to shoot. I also own the model 605 SS .357 magnum. Ditto for that one also. Fine-shooting revolvers.
