Against my advice my brother recently purchased a new Taurus 709 slim line 9mm.

Today we took it out for the first time. I want to start out by saying that I don't like Taurus guns. I have had 2 and both had serious problems.
With that said, I came away surprised after 100 rounds. These were cheep Remington white box hard ball. I agree it was a short test but in that 100, not a single issue.
At 7 yards which was where most of the shooting was done at since this was his first hand gun when I shot it 2 inch groups were easy. I preformed several mags of double taps and was again surprised at how point able and easy the target was reaquired after the first shot.
The trigger actually came close to my G26 and it's no slouch.
Being a slim gun I expected the recoil to be sharp. As long you keep your hand high on the grip the recoil was nothing.
It was odd that on the first box it was scattering the empties all over the place and on the last box (same ammo) it was putting them all several feet out from my right foot in a nice pile.
My only one true complaint was the magazine. The last two rounds, getting them into the mag was difficult and hard on the thumb.
I would not trade my G26 for one with several 100$ and it needs a couple more box's of rounds but I would carry it with what I know now.
The grip is more comfortable than the G42, a lot better.
