Taurus 617 Questions

This 617 7 shot snubbie from Taurus looks pretty cool. My question, to those who have shot one, is- even though lightweight, does the somewhat larger frame size help in recoil controllability? Finally, what are the available grip options? Will the grip take the more compact rubber grips? Thanks for your input.
 
I have the Taurus titanium .357. The full -size grip is very helpful in controlling this powerful round. I wouldn't want to fire 357 from a smaller revolver not allowing the full hand to hold this firearm. Even with the grip and the porting, the recoil is unpleasant with 357 but easy with 38 special. I find the grips satisfactory and haven't considered replacing them. I think this is a fine revolver and quite usable for CCW or home defense.
