4" or 6" For Home Defense: Your opinions please

I have decided that I am going to purchase a Taurus 608. Would a 6.5 inch barrel length be to long for a home defense gun? Or should I stick to a 4". I don't plan on carrying it and will take it out to target shoot maybe twice a month. Thanks for your input.

I have the 6" unless you have popeyes forearms ( like me ) you are better off with the 4" they are just too heavy , the compensator should take the muzzle flip out pretty good .

While I do have one with the 6.5" barrel, I wouldn't suggest it for that role. Come to think of it I don't think I would even suggest a 608 at all.

Don't get me wrong. I love mine and will never get rid of it, but don't you think it's overkill for a house gun?

lol @ Jim

It weighs in at 3-1/2 lbs unloaded. I tell the wife I can handle 9 BG's. Shoot 8 and hit the 9th over the head with it.
