Taurus 44 magnum

[44 Mag Fan]

Anyone ever tried a Taurus 44 Mag stainless and ported with a 8.5 inch barrel. Picked up one in trade and I am going to use it for hog hunting. Wanted a Ruger but couldn't find one.This Taurus looks like it will do the job if I do my part. Still looking for a Ruger.

I know a co-worker who has a blued raging bull (I think it is) in .44mag. it shoot s pretty good.

I've shot my friends 454 Raging Bull and it is awesome.

I've never shot the 44 RB.

I have a Taurus 44 mag 4". good gun shoots straight and well built.

I have a Model 44SS6, 6" version like yours, and a Model444B6, Raging Bull.

Both of them are accurate and reliable. I like them! I think yours would do just fine on hogs if you do your part.

I always carry one of them when I am in the woods. Where I hunt is just over the mountain from Yellowstone and most of the good hunting opportunities are with a bow, thanks to IDFG. I like to bowhunt, so it is all good.

I load them with HSM Bear Loads when I am out there.

Good gun

I've had a blued 44 mag raging bull for about ten years. I did have to replace the cylinder spring, and I have to watch the screw that hold the cylinder assembly in place as it tends to loosen up. Other than that it a great shooter. Very much fun at the range and I've knocked down two whitetail with it. Ammo is expensive, but I reload. I have a scope on my and it gets lots of comments when I pull it out of the bag at the range. I suspect you'll be happy with it.

I have a old Taurus M-44 6 or 6 1/2" barrel It hasn't failed me and is very accurate.

The raging bull line is every bit as strong as a Ruger.
