Taurus .357

Would anyone know the approx value of a Taurus .357 7 shot revolver.
6 inch barrel , full frame. Not sure what exact model it is. It has a stainless finish and rubber houge grips. My friend bought it from his cousin who never even fired it. The friend now lives within Chicago city limits which makes the gun illegal :barf: (he needs to sell) Overall the gun is in excellent shape.

I think he will take $150 for it, which I think would be a great deal.

Does it sound like a good deal? ...is this a decent gun?

Thanks in advance! :)

Taurus also built the M607 back in the mid 1990's in SS. That was their first 7 shot .357mag revolver. It was made along with the M606 (six shooter) and M608 (8 shooter) series.

That sounds an awful lot like the 607. It was built on the same frame as Taurus pre-RB .44 and was pretty large. I bought one with a 3.5" barrel (4" shroud) shortly after they first came out in 1995. Pretty decent revolver, but a little heavy compared to the 686+.

They turn up used for about $290-300 in this part of the country, so $150 is a very good price. I paid $392 for mine new.

Here is a pic of the Model 607 4" to help you ID the gun:

From your description, I'm guessing a 607SS. My Bluebook prices it at $375.00(100%), $325.00(98%), and $265.00(95%). Buy it!!!

I have decided to purchase the gun, Now I am not sure if it is a 4" or 6" barrel. The pics of the 607 4" look an awful lot like it. The pics of the 6" just seems larger to me. When the deal goes through I will put up a post , hopefully with a pic :D

Thanks for all the help guys!

BOB
