Tauras PT940 Problem

My friend just baught a Tauras PT 940 and encountered a problem in the first magazine theat he feed it. He pulled the trigger and the hammer fell but the round did not go off. The ammo was fine but the gun had failed. It seemed that the fireing pin was hitting off to the left of the primer, he shot some more ammo through it and it worked fine. Does anyone know why this has happened?
 
I never had a problem with mine. Did he clean the gun well before shooting?

If it only happened with the initial trigger pull & has functioned since, I wouldn't worry about it. One he runs 7 to 10 boxes of ammo through it, he'll have a good idea how reliable the pistol is.
