Tasco Optima

Hi to the group:
I am thinking about putting a Tasco Optima sight on my Kimber and was wondering what the group's thoughts were on this sight? Thanks in advance to those who respond....45Fan

Several guys at my range are using them, and like them very much. the latest generation seems to have overcome some fragility problems (remember, it's slide mounted, and gets the full dose of slide recoil).

One guy has one on his Glock27 carry gun. I shot it, and was duly impressed...easy fast multiple hits on an 18x24 plate at 50 yards...in fact much faster than the iron sights on my G19.

Mickey Fowler, the former speed shooting champ, uses one on his carry gun, I'm told.

I have an Optima 2000 with an EGW mount on my Kimber Classic Custom and am very happy with it after 3000+ rounds...

There were problems with the first Optimas, in that they had a very complicated adjustment procedure and were not reliable...I had one and Tasco replaced it without a question.

The new sight is excellent...over 3000 rounds without a problem. Despite what I have read in some threads, it is a set it and forget it sight. The only time I have had trouble with mine was recently when I tried to adjust for a different range and cranked the sight right off the target! Dumbass me had a work to find out what I had done!

EGW has mounts for adjustable and fixed sight Kimbers, in silver or black.

The 2000 is light , reliable, and apparently cheaper than when I bought mine...Shop around! Good shooting!
