not as small or light as you'd think. i have owned 3 taurus revolvers, 2 had problems one worked fine. i got my first smith and wesson recently and as far as workmanship and performance goes,S&W beats taurus hands down. why not look at the S&W 340?
I own several Taurus revolvers (85,94,605,606). I've run thousands of rounds through them without one single problem. My dad has an 85 that's had about 3,000 rounds through it without any problems. Same with my buddys 605.
I've been carrying a Taurus M85CH in a boot holster on and off for a few years now without any qualms. I've only put less than 1K rounds through mine in the 5+ years I've had it, but no problems as of yet.
If loaded with decent loads designed with shorter barrels in mind (such as those pictured below), you can have confidence in a .38 special even if out of a 2" snub.
Typical performance of the 130gr +P Winchester SXT (left) and 135gr +P Speer Gold Dot out a 2" M85 after 2 layers of denim before play dough.
