Target Knobs??

Doc,

I'm not sure if anyone makes them but I have to ask why you would want to do this?

I understand the reasons for target knobs (quick adjustment for precision shot) but the ACOG is more of a "tactical" scope used for picking up targets quickly. Given the TA01NSN is designed for the M4 w/flattop (and .223) you are really not talking about a precision rifle and the .223 is a very flat shooting cartridge (i.e. battle zero should surfice for most engagement ranges)

I understand but I'm confused (happens very easily to Marines). Seems like a solution in search of a problem or trying to utilize something for other then its intended purpose.

I Understand the Confusion

Yes, I was wondering if anyone would ask. The reason is that I have an HK 93 A3 and an AR-15 and I trade out scopes between them periodically and do not wish to wear out the adjustment screws.

I see said the blind man as he picked up his hammer and saw.

IMO I would just set the ACOG zero for whichever firearm it spends the most time on then switch the scope to the other one and record (for prosperity) what the settings are. If you are only switching periodically I wouldn't think you would screw up the screws. I also, personally, wouldn't want target knobs sticking out all over on that scope.

Another option would be to pickup another ACOG.

I'm interested in why you would think that the adjustment screws would suffer less, if they were turned by target knobs, as opposed to some other method? The screw's being turned exactly the same, regardless of what mechanical method your using to do the turning.

Well you have to take the caps off. Then you have to get the correct size screw driver. Then you have to put the caps back on after it is zeroed in again...........and when I say perodically it means once a month............

All this can be simplified by simply putting on a SMALL set of Target Knobs made to fit the scope. Not to tall as it will lose its Tactical..............
