need you guys opinion the scope mounting man it like it

Your post is very hard to understand, but I gather you are looking to scope your Henry Big Boy?

Do not tap into the brass receiver, you will ruin the looks and the resale value of that lovely gun. Blindstich linked the proper scope mount for Big Boys in the post above me. The new model Henry Big Boys are already tapped for the scope mount on the reciever. I believe the older models have tapped holes located under the rear sight. All the information can be found on the Henery website (there are even videos to watch).

"The Golden Boy Scope and 1st generation Big Boy rifles are drilled and tapped under the rear sight. Current production (2nd generation) Big Boys are drilled and tapped on the top of the receiver.

In September 2011 we began shipping the 2nd generation Big Boy rifles which feature receivers that are drilled and tapped for the scope mount. In previous production 1st generation the barrels were drilled and tapped if rollmarked Bayonne NJ. First generation Big Boys use the BB-CSM Cantilever Scope Mount. 2nd generation current production use the new style BB-RSM Receiver Scope Mount. 2nd generation Big Boys start with the following serial numbers: H006 = BB0047222 H006M = BB0015530M H006C = BB0021188C "

It sounds like you may have an older model if the receiver is not tapped. Some people prefer the older models because it is easier to mount a scope farther forward on the barrel mount. Also, some claim the scope is more accurate attached to the barrel. So, don't go tapping the reciever if it is an older model.. it will ruin the resale.

sights for henry big boy

I went to skinner peeps and love the accuracy but am going to tang sight as it so much more convenient to adjust in pistol cartridge silhouette between the yardages.

Does anyone know about trigger jobs for henry's. I talked to one gunsmith that wasn't sure he could do a trigger job on the big boy as they are "different". Has anyone out there had their trigger lightened up?
