Wanting to mount a tang sight on my Win 94, 44 Mag and Marlin 336C, 30-30,

Any recommendations on manufacture(s) vendors.

I believe Marble's are quite good if you want one that's more-or-less traditional looking. Never used one myself, but I've heard good things from those who have.

Tang mounted peep sights

Look at Lyman as well as Marbles. I have them on some of my M/L's .. :)
Have seen them on EBay as well as GunBroker.

Williams makes their Guide series sight for the Marlin . These mount on top of the receiver , in the two rear scope base mounting holes . They alse make the Fool Proof and the 5-D , side mount sights for both of your guns . There are several new peep sights on the market of the Ghost Ring design .

I've owned/used both Lyman & Marble's tang peep sights on Winchesters & Marlins - and either/both are fine, depending upon your pursestrings and druthers.

The Lyman #2 is about 1/2 the cost of the Marbles, with bothe twist adjustable for elevation adjustment (rotate the stem).
The Lyman's windage is adjusted via shimming one side or the other of the tang sight base - set-n-forget, so to speak.
The Marble's windage adjustment is via an adj knob - E-Z-P-Z.
In reality, once zeroed, most rifles NEVER need to be readjusted for windage for either game or target shooting - just for elevation in target shoots - Sooo the less expensive Lyman makes more sense to many.
Also, the sighting stem of the Lyman looks thicker/meatier than the thinner-frailer looking Marbles.(YMMV)

Lyman supplies the needed longer tang screw for your rifle(s), it's an extra order from Marble's.
Lyman supplies a special sub-base for Marlins, so that the tang sight front base hole doesn't need to deface the top tang SN, a Federal offense - Marble's has no such base.

I have both Williams receiver sights and a Lyman tang sight. Williams FP sight is unquestionably the best. The Williams 5D sight is good once it's adjusted. Elevation is easy enough, but windage is a PITA to get set accurately. The Lyman tang sight is easy to adjust elevation, but windage is done by drifting the front sight. It's also kinda rough on your thumb when firing unless you have leather gloves on, but it does have the longest sight radius and comes with a set of peeps for more precision.

Both are very good sights, Marbles has the advantage of being windage adjustable, and that's the way I went.
