Tang Safety for a M1 Super 90

Is it possible & cost effective to convert the safety on an M1-S90 to the tang? Love this gun but for any kind of small / upland game the trigger guard safety is a nightmare.
 
No go on the tang safety. But Benelli now offer an oversized safety that may be perfect for you. It costs about 25 bucks and, according to their catalog, it will fit the M1 and will be a drop in fit. They use it on their new M4 and the competition models. Give Benelli a call and order it form them.
 
My M1 tactical came with the enlarged safety and it is very quick to use for grouse hunting. With your finger off the trigger (good gun safety), you can undo the safety and fire the weapon in one fluid motion.

Too bad I lost my rear ghost ring (sheared off somewhere), while out hunting and still haven't gotten my gun back from Benelli :(
