Tanfoglio Witness Silver Team 9x21 questions

I have been getting some good info concerning this from a Tan shooter on the boards, but I have a few other questions for anybody that has some experience with them:
* Recommended recoil spring weight for major loads
* Extra weight mag springs work better? Any luck with
Dennys Shooting Supply hollow base pads? They look
rather fragile to be dumping mags on hard surfaces.
* Brass - Do you reload fired brass to major and if so
how many times and what do you look for besides loose
primers and split cases to identify what to junk? Do
you follow a set pattern of major loads x times, then
use them only for minor? Seems prudent to use them only
a couple times for matches, etc then they go into the
practice ammo bin.
* Any other info that you might deem helpful would be
appreciated.
I have been shooting and reloading for over 50 years, but this is my first venture into such a high intensity pistol cartridge and I am a little apprehensive. The gun has been in my safe since buying it in 1992. Only shot about 50 9x19s in it and then shelved it. I have been told of the softer bbls of that era having a rather short life as well as the problem slide stop pins. Hear that other than that they have been very reliable and solid performers with a cartridge life to 100,000 and beyond even with major loads. Thanks for any help, Jim
