Talk to me about the Omega trigger in CZ pistols.

A few weeks back I took a young man to the range,,,
We fired many pistols that day but he fell in love with my 75B.

So now he is looking to buy one.

He went to Buds and saw the new ones have,,,
Something called an Omega trigger.

Now he's asking me about it.

I went to their website and read their verbiage,,,
It seems to be a cost saving measure disguised as improvement,
But I was hoping to get some more tangible information from you good folk.

I guess my question is this:
Is the new Omega trigger as good as or better than the old normal trigger?

Thanks in advance gentlemen.

From my understanding and the ones I have felt... The pull is smoother out of the box.

The design is simpler, and it should still hold up well, though the original might be a bit more robust due to the dual trigger bars. I would need to take an Omega system apart to know more.

The dual bars may allow a smoother pull in the long run though, as forces may be applied more evenly.

Once again, I am not familiar with the Omega internals well enough to know for sure.

People complained that due to the newness of the trigger, gunsmiths where less able to tweak them, but that shouldn't be a big issue now that it has been out a few years.

I've got a 75BD and a 75D PCR both with the original trigger and a P-09 with the Omega trigger. To be honest I don't see much difference in them. They do all break in pretty nice after a couple hundred rounds.
The one thing I can say about the Omega is that it is a much simpler system and in my book simple is good.
I do like the BD and as far as I know they don't make one with the Omega.
One nice thing about the P-07 and 09 is that they come with the decocker but also include the hardware to switch it to a standard safety.

I have two 75b's. I bought them only because of the Omega trigger system in them. It is simpler, cheaper, smoother, crisper and creep-free. Reset is a little long which might be a minus if you like to play tactical games. The double action is heavy but very deliberate which makes carrying with the hammer down on a hot chamber very safe. However single action is where it is at for me with this pistol, it really shines in SA.

I am surprised that people neither rave about them or hate them. I guess most can take or leave the Omega trigger. I love them.

I have a 75b omega and a p-09. The double action on the 09 is nicer for whatever reason that may be, both are 2014 models.

As for my 75b it's just fine. You pull the trigger that thing on the back falls down (pretty quickly) and it makes my powder coated lead things squirt out the barrel. In DA it's not the sweetest thing, but in SA it's pretty darned good.

I've had a 75B Omega for several years. As mentioned above, the DA is nothing to write home about. At first, it was gritty, but it's smoothed out after a few hundred rounds or so. It's very acceptable in DA now.

SA is butter smooth. Almost as good as my BHP, but not quite.

Other than having the trigger return spring take a dump on me after a few thousand rounds, it's been a very reliable, accurate and fun gun.
