Talk Radio

What talk radio shows do you tune into? I like Rush and Hannity OK, but I love Michael Savage. He's a little edgey but dosen't beat around the bush one bit. I love his show. His website also gives you news you won't find anywhere else. Are there any other good ones I'm missing?

I used to like Savage, but after a while it seemed like his show was pretty much just a platform for him to engage in some creative name-calling--better for occasional listening when some lefty or other really ticked me off.

For the best in-depth coverage of darn near everything, I like Hugh Hewitt and Michael Medved. They're both classy, smart guys with great guests and a deep understanding of the world we live in. Michael, more than any other host I've listened to, regularly has people on who disagree with him and conservatism in general, then proceeds to (very politely) run rings around them. Rush and Hannity are nice, but I think they're both becoming a bit formulaic.

+1. I used to listen to him when he was just a local San Fran talker. His program has changed since going national. Seems like he's decided his niche is "The Permanently Piss*d-Off Man."

Lately I like Neal Boortz. (He's a pilot, so that gives him an edge with me.)

I also like to listen to Bill O'Reilly, but he has said some really STUPID stuff lately, particularly about the war on drugs, and it make me question whether he really is as intelligent as I had thought he was.

I haven't had the chance to catch Laura Ingram (sp?) because I work nights when she's on and can't get AM reception in the building. (And no, don't suggest a CCRadio for umpteen hundreds of dollars, thankyouverymuch. Ain't gonna happen.)

I would like to catch someone who is a bit less "in the gutter" with the name-calling and stuff. And I sure would like someone who spends a bit more time on RKBA issues and making the anti's look like the morons they truly are.

My all time favorite was David Tyree from WGSO in New Orleans, but he died of prostate cancer last September.

O'Reilly has gone over the edge recently. Savage is occasionally good but he gets irritating too. Liddy is interesting most of the time as is Dr. James Dobson but neither of them is on when I'm driving home.

So I listen to a lot of canned music. Got a good John Prine CD not too long ago plus jazz, blues, folk and acoustic.

:( :(

Gordon Liddy tells it like it is, or should be.!

Rush Limbaugh is a pill fueled airbag that only has real interest in his cash flow.

I listen all day, but Glenn Beck is my favorite of all. Rush and Hannity are good, but Glenn beck...aaaaaaaawwwwwweeeeeee yeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!

I used to listen to a lot of Rush and Savage Nation at work. But I get too wound up too easy anymore, and my subcontractors catch the brunt of it the rest of the day. So now I stick to Coast to Coast AM late-night and keep my I-pod full of music for work. It's more even-keel that way, and much more entertaining without any whinning bleeding-hearts setting my mood to broil and my crews ducking for cover.

Glenn Beck and Ken Hamblin if he's still on the air (haven't found him on the dial in years). Rush is ok if I have no other choice, but he's entertainment only. I can't stand Hannity and won't listen, preferring NPR instead. Chris Kore (NoVa/Md/DC area local host) is pretty good.

Back to the FM and music. Why should I support all the hot air makers and help enlarge their wallets when they make a cacophony of discord and divisiveness. The only one who does tend to provide useful information a majority of the time is Dr. Laura. The rest would make good gator bait.

Lars Larsen is the only one I really like, but I can only get it in the Fairbanks area.

Rush, Savage, O'Reilly, Hanity, et al are nothing but fascists windbags that get paid big bucks to spew hate and discontent.

The rest of the time I prefer to listen to George Noory and Art Bell on Coast-to-Coast.
