Talk me out of or into this. . .

A Charter Arms Bulldog 44 special or a Pitbull in 40 S&W.

I like revolvers and I like large diameter rounds. This seems like a fun, reliable low cost alternate CCW. Anybody own one? Are they fun? Holsters available? Does it CCW as well or better than a J/K frame snub?

Are there after market grips out there?

Are the negative posts real, or only for like 90's guns?

I already have a Kahr P40, S&W 640 357, S&W 19-3 4" and a 1911 3.5" 45 ACP, so I could just say no, right?

Also, I think I would rather buy a belt buckle NAA 22, or would I??

I've owned a Bulldog since the 80's and like it. I don't know about the newer ones. I never did buy a holster for it. I carried it back pocket for awhile, and in a belly band on the beach in Florida no shirt, slung low. My NAA 22 Mini-Revo came with a cool rug that I keep the Bulldog in with the butt sticking out, who needs aholster sic.

I can hit better with the Bulldog than I can with my Jframe. I've owned it a lot longer though. It loves those Remington 246 gr RNL. A little warm for the Bulldogs weight but managable.

While the NAA 22s are great guns, you can't wear it on your beltbuckle or you will be one of those guys :D

I don't know about the new 40 cal one, I heard somethings that they are gettning high return rates at my local gun shop.

Ummm... No? ... As a Novelty item only IMO... And only if you have $ to burn.

I have a .44 Bulldog and carry it occasionally. It feels good. Strong. Reliable.

But it's not a range gun so I don't shoot it a lot... Just like havin' it.

From what I've read on the net, I don't think the Pitbull .40 is quite perfected yet but I don't pretend to have heard the latest news...

FWIW, they're both novelty items to me.

I really have what I need for now. Passing is also an option....

Why try to talk you out of buying 2nd or 3rd rate firearms? If you are of that mind set go for it.

Wow...I guess it is kind of 2nd or 3rd tier to me also....I mean it isn't my custom 1911 or one of my SA, Kahr or S&W's, but given those tiers, 3rd ain't a bad gun at all. Would have to rate the NAA 4th as it is just to wear to club meetings!

Hi Point would still round out the bottom and never see my safe!

Speaking of 2nd rate and 3rd rate firearms, I've been trying to find a 1st rate 44 snubby for pocket carry. The only thing I can find are 2nd rate abs 3rd rate firearms. I've sent several emails asking S&W to make a run of 296s, but they're not listening.

So, I just bought my first Taurus, a 445.
