Dangus, I read that thread. I agree with pretty much all you said.

HOWEVER, while reading, I felt that you (as the originator of the thread) had a real attitude. I was a bit put off by your militancy. Plus, that Egan guy was (I think) saying that he'd only advocate disarmament if EVERYONE were disarmed, and that was not possible. I think he just said it poorly. (MANY of us can't get the words out right, you know?)

Personally, I'd advise a tad less militancy, and a bit more persuasion. You represent all of us, and lurkers and fence sitters might well be "put off" by your semi-rant.

My opinions only, of course. Now go get 'em.

I read the stuff and I didn't sense the militancy. I thought he was pretty factual and ststed the pro side pretty well.

I have to write enough argumentative papers for school, Jeez that's a lot of writing.

I don't know that I was militant, but I certainly did start the thread out a little brashly, and was pleasantly suprised at the positive responses. I'm sick though, and have been for the last 6 weeks, the stress of arguing is bothersome, I was just calling for some backup to ease my troubles :)

BTW, you wanna influence antis, or just get in their face and make them thing, the other interesting topics besides tori forum on that site is chock full of em (this thread is in rant cause I didn't think I could handle 1,000,000 replies, lol).

BTW, if Rich reads this, he should check out the forum software that she's using there, it's vBulletin, and is all SQL based. From all I can tell it's quite a bit better than UBB, and you'd probably not have to lock threads all the time, which would be really really nice.
