Just ordered a tactical rifles M40T4 .338 lapua mag. Complete wit all the bells and whistles including a Nightforce 5.5-20x50. Digital all terrain cammo finish from barrel to stock. Optic with the same finish. Pics will be uploaded as soon as I get it

It's supposed to take 8-10 months approximately. Sometimes it can take longer because the have to fill military and police orders first. The .308 I got from them a friend of mine ordered and sold to me and it took a year and a half. Hopefully it won't take that long

Very nice. Im heavily weighing buying a 338 lapua but i dont reload and ammo cost as much as 50bmg. Actually i think i can get bmg cheaper.

Oh yeah much better accuracy the bmg was meant to be reliable in automatic weapons. It was also meant to be used on vehicles so it didn't have to shoot moa

I can't wait to get it in. Going to be a long ten months or so. I shot four rounds out of the .308 I got from them in a 30mph wind the other day at 100 yards. You could cover three of the holes with a quarter. The last round didn't count in the group because it went into a pound of tannerite. Made a nice boom that shook the truck I was laying in at 100 yards! The rifles they make are excellent. I'm ready to see what the .338 can do

Congrats on your purchase. I've heard .338's are great at distance. Do you have a range to really let it run? Also, while this may go without saying, I'm pretty sure we're going to need a range report and pictures once you get it going.

Yeah I have friends with farm land. I'm sure we can get at least 1500 yards. If I can hit at 1500 is a different story. Might be able to get an even longer distance than that shooting across the river at a buddy's camp. Just need to work my way up to that. About 700 yards is the longest I've tried and hit with my .308. I'm ready to extend that. I want something that the better I get I can maybe reach out a little further with it

Congrats on your new rifle! Hope it doesn't take too long to get. What with the "Military" contracts and all. Oh, and exactly what branch of the Military would be buying rifles from those guys? Not the Marine Corps... Not the Army... Must be the Air Force. Maybe the Navy? Hmmm...

Seriously though... I know those guys make a really nice rifle. I'm sure it will be fantastic. I just really don't think they're building rifles for any branch of the Military.

700 action on the .308 I have from them but they use a chimera action on the .338 lapua I ordered.

The do build some rifles for the marines but not a large scale. As long as they meet certain specs the marines have a program for certain groups that allows them to use a personal weapon. The army uses the M24 which they obviously don't supply and the marines have there own gunsmiths. They do however supply some third party training facilities that train army snipers that purchase M24 replicas they make for the training. I'm sure this is what they meant by military orders. Just like law enforcement orders are often rifles purchased personally by law enforcement officers not the department in most cases.

These guys only put out 200 rifles a year so I imagine that a 20,000 rifle military order would be impossible for them to fill.

Do you hand load? The round that works best in my Rem 700MLR is a 300gr Sierra Matchking over 93gr of Retumbo....

I would strongly suggest you take it up. It is not as intimidating as you may think, reloading rifle ammo is pretty easy. For .338 Lapua, you reduce the cost per round from $6.00 per round to about $3.00 per round, depending on the brass and bullet manufacturer you use... At 93 grains of powder per round, a pound of Retumbo disappears pretty quickly....

Yeah I bet it does. I'm not at all intimidated by it. I have a friend that has done it for years so he could help me out. For how much I'll shoot the gun I might just buy ammo. It's bit something I would put hundreds of rounds through at a time like my AR. Barrel break in would me my biggest expense. After that it wouldn't be too bad
