Tactical Lever-Action?

This is an idea I've been throwing around with my Dad for a while as a joke, well, recently I took a trip to a local gun shop and what did I see?

Eeyup. A black, sythetic stocked, fiber-optic sighted, picatinny railed, short lever action rifle.

I think that fits many people's definition of 'Tactical'

I also beleive it was a Mossberg, could be wrong, in 30-30

What I want to know is 'why?' I understand that many people hunt with lever actions, and some even use them for HD (myself included), but seriously?

Overall it felt very...wrong. A synthetic lever-action? Bleck. It felt so Mall-Ninja-y.

Also, I saw the Mossberg 500 'Zombie Gun' I hung my head in shame...
 
Luckily everyone is not the same. As to why..."because I choose to" is good enough. The right to bear arms is not subject to other's fashion sense.
 
Actually lever action for home defense is not all that unusual, especially with a short throw like a 44mag. I believe cooper was a proponent with the requisite scout scope and backup iron sights.
 
Just a matter of taste, I guess. I like the Mossberg 464, but the tactical look is a little much for me. I think I'd be just as tactical with the standard model.
