Tackdrivers?

I hear you people bragging on your shooting irons. Talking about how this one or that one can drive tacks. Have you ever tried to drive a tack from 25 yds? Tried it the other day with a 1911 couldn't even see the tack at that distance, I just kinda guessed at where I thought it was, half a box of ammo later, I finally managed to hit it, at least I think I hit it. There was a hole where I think I put the tack. Now how am I supposed to hang up the picture of Rosie? Got a hole in my target frame, and got no tack.

<muttering> Driving tacks with a handgun, stupidist thing I ever heard.....

Since my notion of close-combat is a .30-'06 at 500 yards, I just use enough scope to see the (tie)tack. :)

And if it's so close that some other social gun is called for, looking for tacks is the least of my problems...

Gee, I hope this helps!

Puddle P, you misunderstood. You are suppose to grasp the pistol by the barrel and drive the tack with the butt of the gun. Generally, the bigger the pistol the better a tack driver it is.

If you were a "gunwriter" you could drive it at 25 feet and blame the typesetter for changing it to 25 YARDS.

If you were an Eastern GW, you could claim the best 3 out of five.
