Tacitcal Matches

Here is a short video of a tactical match that I shot at my local indoor range. They run these matches every Monday. I just started shooting them and they a load of fun. My accuracy has increased immensely. If you are not already I would suggest trying a few. This one is not very competitive but more of a training aid.

I am shooting my M&P9c at this stage. First Time using this gun for a match. We shoot 3 stages but I only had them tape this last stage this time. It was the shortest stage with only 9 shots needed. The match was start with your hands on the barricade then run up and shoot the 1st target 2 in the chest 1 in the head and charge the 2nd set of targets laying on the backstop going around the hostages and get as close as you want. I shot this match clean and placed 7th overall of about 14 shooters. Still getting used to everything need to work on speeding things up since I have the accuracy down now.

Let me know what you think...

Looks good! Placing in the top half is good for being new to the shoots. Theres a lot more pressure on you than just plinking targets.

I just started doing the 'action-shoots' at my local pistol range. Loads of fun, and great training for SD. Ours have various setups (changing every night for the shoot) with usually 8 BG's and 5-6 hostages. Typically you need 2 shots COM, with accuracy being judged against your time.

I've found I have a tendency to rush a bit and have consistantly winged the hostages the bad-guys are hiding behind. The good news is the hostage would only have a minor wound but the BG would have been severly wounded by it. :)

If you ignore grazing the hostage penalty, I've outshot guys with tuned-up full sized guns (1911's, various 9mm's) using my Glock 36 compact carry gun. Unfortunately, you can't just ignore clipping the no-shoot in the arm/shoulder....
