In preparation for defending a LEO shooting incident, I am looking for a general publication regarding the phenomena (I believe it's called "tache psyche") that causes distortion of the brain's processing functions during a gunfight (or other fight for survival) that leads to loss of hearing, tunnel vision, loss of memory (e.g., how many shots were fired) and other brain functions that for some reason are "shut down" so that the person is forced to focus all attention (by some accounts in super slow motion) on the threat to their personal safety. I'd appreciate any referrals to publications by credible authors on the topic.

Much Thanks to DC for the speedy response pointing me in the right direction. I wasn't getting any search hits because I was obviously spelling it wrong; thanks again.
