I am ready to buy a encore pistol barrel.The biggest animal I will hunt are whitetail at a distance of 250 yd.I already have a 308 encore rifle.Not for sure what the recoil will be like in 308.Do I need a muzzle brake or go with a smaller caliber.
I have a .308 with a factory muzzle tamer brake and it is pretty fierce to shoot more than a few rounds. I suggest the 7mm-08 or .243 win, as they are more manageable and still more than enough for deer at the ranges mentioned.
