T/c encore extractor hitting firing pin.

This is my first post to the forum so please forgive me if I put it in the wrong area.

I got myself my first encore and I am have a small problem with. The extractor seems to be hitting the firing pin when you go to close the rifle. You can push in on the extractor while your closing it and it will slide into the chamber as your closing and it works fine. Is this normal? I have not tried it with ammo in the gun to see if it shuts better when loaded.

Any help would be appreciated even if it's to tell me I'm a retard.

Is your firing pin extending past the breech face without being hit by the hammer? Your firing pin should be retracted into the frame unless it is hit by the hammer.

I don't have an Encore, but both of my TC Contenders have spring loaded inertial firing pins which are retracted during opening and closing. I'd bet your FP spring is either broken or missing.
