Just picked one up, haven't fired it yet. Any thoughts out there from those that have had them? Pros, cons?
This one is in .44 magnum with a 10" barrel. I'm looking forward to giving it a workout.

I had one a few years ago. Very accurate. You gotta keep those barrels separated though...

They seem to multiply mysteriously.

Go NRA

Years and years ago (BK, Before Kids) I used to shoot IHMSA (long-range) metallic sihouette, and NRA (out to 100yds) Hunter Pistol silhouette. Contenders ruled. Great triggers, great accuracy, great sights as issued, and easy scope mounting. I'm down to .22LR, .357M, and .44M, all with scopes. They offer incredible versatility, and I can hunt anything from cottontails to whitetails with the three calibers I've got.

Stick with the bull barrels. I never had any luck w/ my .45Colt octagonal barrel, and I believe the multi-purpose shotgun/bullet barrels give up too much accuracy.

The contender is a very accurate and fun gun to shot.

I have three barrels 45 Colt/410, 7mm TCU and a 44 Mag. barrel rechambered to 444 Marlin.

I'll be hunting Whitetail with the 444 this year. It's really a kicker. Today I ordered a industrial grade safety anti virbration and impact glove. I hope this will make the 444 a little more pleasent to shoot.
