hi im looking for a new rifle in .22 hornet really like the versatility of the t/c but are they accurate with the break action barrel and do they hold there zero well.i currently have a ruger 77/22 in .22 hornet and can shoot 1/2" groups with it @ 100yds when its on (bouncing around a atv all day on rough roads) cant keep the scope set on the damn thing. i am a handloader too if that helps thanks for any help!

I have a Contender (pistol) with several barrels, including a 10" .22 Hornet. It is very accurate. The scope is mounted on the barrel, and while I don't bang it around on an atv, it holds its zero quite well.

Also have a Ruger No.3 in .22 Hornet. Shoot better than I do!

I have a custom barrel (5.7x28) on one of my Encore frames and I was hitting prairie dogs at 200 year this year with it.

I'd buy a better scope! I've had problems with my Encore grouping better than 1" but it is mostly my fault. I've been playing with big bore wildcats the are probably producing too much recoil for me to shoot that good. I've got a buddy with his Contender pistol I've personally witnessed kills on black bear (.358 JDJ) at 200 yards, pronghorn (.30-30 AI) 200+ yards, and prairie dogs (.30-30 AI) at 300. So I'd say that as long as the nut on the trigger does the job the T/C will do it as well.

ive had both the encore and the cntenders if your just wanting it for a 22 hornet then the contender will do fine. but if you want to step up to some thing larger then the encore is the way to go

for me i have the encores now in 308, 44, 444, 7RM, and ML all rifles and they all shoot great
