I was given an old Double Barrel, Double Hammer & Trigger British shotgun made by "T BLADEN & SON". It has no numbers, but on the strap between the barrels it says "LONDON FINE DAMASCUS"..
I am seeking any information on this old Shotgun.
It is in good shape despite the overall rust on the barrel, but I don't want to re-finish it without some idea of its age & value as it would change the original finish..
Any info would be greatly appreciated, Thanks..

When you remove the forearm and barrels, there will be various markings indicating proof house, bore, choke, etc.

Damascus barrels need a SERIOUS going over by a competent smith well-versed in them to check them out thoroughly -and even then there might be issues. Folks DO shoot these old guns with LOW-pressure vintager-style loads from the likes of Polywad and RST. Damascus barrels were in layers, not like today's much stronger tubes - hence the need for an expert review.

Sounds like a nice gun - if you can, post some pics.
