Synthetic Lubes and Cleaners

I just purchased a Sig Sauer pistol, it came with Mil Comm's TW25B grease. I tried it and loved it. Any opinions on using synthetic lube and cleaners? I've always been a Hoppe's 9 fan and Rem Oil or WD40. I've tried the gun grease that came with my Sig on my Glock and Beretta, also using it on my Bushmaster M4.

Has anyone had any bad reactions to using these synthetic products?

I use synthetic motor oil on my stuff. I was buying the expensive stuff for a while til I read on here guys were using the motor oil. Works great, costs much less.

I would stay away from WD-40 on the guns. It has a tendency to catch and hold dirt. I think that is why my Dads rifle had to be professionally taken down and cleaned. So much WD residue was gumming up all the insides that we didn't know how to get to.

Top CLPs & fan favorites....

For a good CLP(clean lube protect) or gun oil-cleaner, I'd suggest these popular brands;
MPro7's LPX, Weaponshield, Slip2000, Eezox, Gunzilla, Hoppes Elite.
I just got a 2 fluid oz bottle of LPX for my new M&P full size 9x19mm.

LPX, Weaponshield & Gunzilla have many fans in the US military and have many + reports in combat(SW Asia).

I had also read a post about using Mobil 1 synthetic oil on firearms, I contacted Bushmaster about using it on my M4 and they replied that they did not recommend using it on my AR15m4

I've become a devotee to Ballistol-- mineral oil. Nicely deepens the
blue on a firearm. You don't have to worry about the impact of overspray
on wood, or gloss wood coatings. I think it's pretty good stuff. I got
into Ballistol a few years ago via my black powder addiction-- muzzleloaders
and revolvers. Out of habit I continue to use Rem Oil inside a barrel
plus on the end of a boresnake but the exterior of my collection gets
Ballistol from time to time. Synthetics, eh no.

Just my .02 David :)
