Synthetic EEZOX

I tried the cleaner / lubricant and I didn't like it . It wouldn't wipe off my alloy framed gun . It might work good on a steel gun I havn't tried it on them yet . I now use breakfree on it .

Eezox is an aerosol like Rem-Oil, but it's not the same. It's not at all like motor oil. It dries and remains on the firearm as a rust barrier. I use it and like it. The only problem is that I get banished to the porch because it smells so strong. I can use Rem-Oil or Hoppe's or whatever in the house, but not Eezox.

Do many of you use EEZOX? Is it a synthettic oil where Mobil Synthetic would accomplish the same for less money?

I use it and love it. To split hairs, I have to say no, Mobil wouldn't be the same. Less money? Yes. Same properties and such? No.

You'll get both proponents and opponents on this issue. The tests I've researched sold me that it's the best corrosion preventative out there. It ranks way near the top on lubrication and protection. As a cleaner...this is where one needs to read the disclaimer...

I order for you to maximize the effectiveness of using it as a cleaner, you HAVE to properly prep your firearm for it. After you do this, future cleanings are a breeze. What you have to do is thoroughly degrease your gun. Then, you apply Eezox and let it sit overnight. Wipe off the excess the next morning and you're good to go.

The next cleaning you just wipe your dirty gun down with a small amount of Eezox and it cleans right up. The reason being is that it bonds to the surfaces on a molecular level and doesn't allow foreign debris to imbed. This is the beauty of the product. That's why it's not easy to get fingerprints on the surface anymore....;)

I don't use it in the barrel. However, it gets applied everywhere else. And, a little goes a long way. Best of all, you don't need to see a coat of wet Eezox on the gun to know it's protected. That takes a little bit to get used to...

Let me know if you're interested. I know a reputable dealer that's a member here....

I don't get the aerosol. I buy the .95oz oiler and then the quart can...;)

The smell isn't that strong to me....but I'm lucky anyway. My wife loves the smell of odd stuff...like MEK, Kroil, Hoppes, Tolouol, etc....:D

I used Eezox before going to Weapon Shield and liked it. The solvents in it are quite strong though and can give you a real bad headache. I still use it to protect the few safe queens that I have, and there is nothing better to give a gun "the look" for photos and things.
