Symantec is anti-gun?

Take a look at this website for the full story:
http://www.guncite.com/gun_control_i-gear.html

The short summary is that a company owned by Symantec is producing an Internet filter software (specifically designed for school systems no less) that blocks out websites like Guncite and the NRA that "promote the use of weapons" but allow unfiltered viewing of sites like Handgun Control.

In effect, they are making sure that the children see only one side of the gun debate - the side that portrays guns and the people who use them as evil.

Most corporations, mine included, also use filtering software. Admins get to choose what gets blocked by category -- we're pretty liberal, we just block sex sites, hate groups and online gambling. Admins can also add their own list of sites to block (for instance, a competitor's job recruitment pages).

I'd like to encourage all pro-RKBA network admins to manually add anti sites like HCI to the blocked list. If anyone asks, you're blocking them because they advocate depriving Americans of Constitutionally protected civil rights, which makes them a hate group.

An example of why it's NOT a joke when places like the Simon Weisanthal Center list the NRA as a "hate group". It gives some cover for censorous stunts like that.

Sic semper tyrannis!

Here at my office we have one called SURFWATCH. I arrived here on Jan 4 and three days after my arrival I filed a complaint for violation of their own 'internet acceptable use' policy. It has been changed and all firearm related sites are completely accessible now. They did think that I was a little to big for my britches being a new guy, but I pointed out that they wrote the policy not me.
