SXS question

I have in my position a nice SXS in 12 bore cyl/full. It has John White Birmingham in the top rib, and the various english proofing marks. I am unable to locate an info on this shotgun. It does lock up tight, and it shoots very nicely. My question is, does anyone have any information on these guns? Or can you give me an idea of where to look?
I traded a POS Moss. 835 ulti-mag composite for this scatter gun.

I couldn't find much on it but I imagine it's about the same as the Enos James over in the shotgun forum.

Here's all I could find

The list only has two makers from Birmingham

It is possible that the original maker was bought out or went under many many years ago
Make sure that it is not Damascus barrels and blast away

If you do decide to shoot it measure the chamber length. Just because a shell will chamber easily doesn't mean it's chambered for it. Shotgun shells are measured after they're fired not before so a 2 3/4 shell will chamber just fine in a 2 1/2 inch chamber but creates excessive pressure when it's fired. Nothing wrong with shooting light loads in damascus barrels as long as they're in good shape and you use the proper shell length.
