I bought a 1922 Lefever sxs and it was hard to break open after firing the first time. By the looks of the primers, the firing pin is striking off-center. Anybody know if that could be the problem?
Off center no big deal. The hammer/pins may not be retracting tho and hanging up on the primers when tryin to open. Internal cleaning and maby some spring work. Clean and lube first and see if the gun gets well.
Thanks, CR.
I thought a cleaning might help and the dealer has invited me to bring it in for look-see. He mentioned something about the pins in older guns being different in some way from newer one because the primers were "harder"???
