i got a question, about how much FFG is equal to 2-50 gr. pellets? both powders are triple seven.some friends were telling me 85 gr. im just looking for a starting point, roughly.
thanks

Two fifty grain pellets of T7 would equal one hundred grains of FFg T7.

If you were shooting two fifity grain pellets of Pryodex or black powder then 85 grains of FFg T7 would be correct. You reduce T7 by 15% from black powder loads for the same pressures.

Why not just call Hodgdon, they have a help line and tech help.
The person there will know more about T7 than anyone on this board. After all they make the stuff!

It just so happens that black powder has nearly the same density as water does, so if an empty cartriage case has a capacity of 45 grains of water, it can also be used as a powder measure to measure 45 grains of black powder.
An empty .30-30 case holds 45 grains of black powder for example.

Here is a list of popular cartriages and their internal capacities in grains of water.

Just pick a caliber that has the capacity you are looking for and use it as a powder measure. There's usually lots of empty cases on the ground at most shooting ranges.
