Is the Action Arms ats84 the same as the Sphinx? I was wondering if there are any Sphinx owners out there and how do you guys like them? Do you guys know where I can locate one of these guns? Should I stop trying to look for one and just have a smith work on a EAA Witness?

the Sphinx was manufactured with a stainless steel frame and an alloy steel (i think it was mixed with zinc or something) slide. it was suppose to be a very accurate handguns with very tight tolernaces. finding one might be a problem and a long wait. the only Sphinxs i have seen lately r the .380 Beretta like semiauto.

i would try for the EAA and have a 'smith that really knows the CZ75/P9/EAA guns down pat. the EAA Witness guns r cheap and upgrading them won't be too painful, and might turn out to be less than a Sphinx to boot!

The IPSC shooters at the pistol club I belong to claim the EEA Witness does not hold up under a lot of use (not durable). That's second hand info but I've heard it from several who have owned the guns.

$.02 worth and keep the change!
