Swift & Weasle stock value:

I don't follow the stock market and kind of lazy in retirement...so, can anyone relate the change in S&W stock since big Ed put the corporation in a tail spin that will soon auger in? That is, it's value then and now.

If they did I think it would be doing poorly. I went to a (Awful, Terrible, Dangerous)gun show today. People were crowding around the handguns but those booths with sections of S&W's were empty in those spots. People don't seem to be interested.

JimR: Correct me if I'm wrong, but when the little squigly lines go downward isn't that a bad sign? Heeeeeheeeh! Sorry for the bloody stock holders...maybe they'll send a corporate hatchet man to visit Big Eds office and give him his walking papers.

Money talks and BS walks, or something like that.

I think Smut n Weasel are a pretty small part of Tompkins; they must be having problems with other divisions too....heh heh heh.

Not too much of a stretch to think that Her Klinton kissed up to Tony Blair to put a little pressure on Tompkins to get SnW to sign.

Nikita Khrushchev predicted confidently in a speech in Bucharest, Rumania on June 19, 1962 that: " The United States will eventually fly the Communist Red Flag...the American people will hoist it themselves."

It looks like their stocks were just following the same trend everybody else's were. If I remember correctly, the Dow took a pretty good hit a couple months back.

Over the last year, Tompkins is down about 30%, while the S&P is up about 5% - see www.bigcharts.com :

[note, use the 'compare to' button to see how their performance compares to the S&P, DJIA, etc.]

How much this has to do with S&W depends on how significant that business is to the whole, and I don't know the company well enough to say. But, I'm sure it's not helping things either. Damn shame, eh? ;)

Smith & Wesson must die. Hopefully to be reborn, without fascist collaborators in charge.

Jeff:

That would be real nice if S&W and Colt got new American made interest...maybe it ought to be put on the stock exchange. Any of you rich rebublicans care to invest?
