Swapping sights on Colt Mustang .380

This may be a dumb question but my father is looking to swap his factory sights on his Mustang for night sights. We confirmed that both the front and rear sights are dovetailed but my question is do all dovetail sights fit that? Or do we need to look for a specific size set of sights? Neither of us have ever done a sight conversion so I honestly wasn't sure.

My Mustang's front sight is not dovetailed and non remove able so night sights are available for the rear only...maybe the newer pistols have it dovetailed. Most sight changes are done easily with a sight tool, beating them in and out, especially night sights, can permanently destroy them.
Night sights are specific for models.

I have one of the original Mustangs, and the front sight is an integral part of the slide. The photo of the new Mustang on Colt's web site looks to be the same. Your father will have to have his slide machined to accept a night sight.

If you're certain his slide is already dovetailed for the front sight -- it's not original, so he'll need to figure out what the dovetail dimensions are.

I have 2 of the early Mustangs 1 Blue and 1 Nickle I painted the front sight red so I can see them. You can get that glow in dark Use it a few seconds with a light and will glow for a long time. I had night sights on a 1911 I didn't like and now their dead and I like sights much better. :D
