I saw it last night at the local shop for 300 bucks has the nickel and polymer frame I as an impulse buyer bought it. It looks very similar to a glock and can't wait to shoot it. Anyone else have on and was it worth the 300?

Hey Hoosierboy, I don't know a whole lot about the Sigmas, but why don't we run over to the range in Elkhart and run a few rounds through it! :-)

I was there a few weeks ago had a great time. Unfortunately, I am going to be busy for the next few weeks. That includes working sundays. I will take you up on your offer.

That's not a bad price for a Sigma. I have the 40VE and really like it. I've also shot a friend's 9V and it is also a great gun. My hands are big so I use a rubber handall over the grip which gives me the perfect fit. Good luck and enjoy.

I've had a 9VE for a year now, and, for my money, it's the best shooting DAO in it's price range. I also own a 40V. I've put THOUSANDS of rounds, both commercial and reloads of every power level, through both of 'em. I have yet to have a single problem with either of them. Not ot mention that Hi cap mags are still available for about half of what hi cap Glock mags are going for. If you can get one of these gems for around $300, DO IT. BTW, the FBI approved the 40V for use by their agents, so it can't be all that bad, huh? Naturally, the Glock boys'll tell you to buy a real gun, but for twice the price, why not get a matched set of S&W's!!!!! :o)

Remember, no matter where you go, there you are!

Federal and state law enforcement agencies "approve" lots of guns for their agents and officers.

The question is what guns are issued for duty? The FBI issues the Glock 23 and the compact Sig Sauer in .40SW to their agents.

Sigma's are good guns they just had a tough start!

Hoosierboy,

Congrats on your new S&W Sigma. I've had a full sized Sigma in 9mm for almost three years now and I love it.

I'm amazed every time I read posts here and on other boards slamming this gun. I think most slams are from Glock owners trying to justify the higher prices they paid for their pistols. BTW, before the flames start, I also have a Glock 21 and love it. The reason I bought the G21 was because S&W didn't have a .45 cal Sigma. If they did, i'm sure it would have been a lot less expensive than the G21.

Anyway, I hope you have as much fun with your new Sigma as I've had with mine.

SUCKER!!!!

My agency is in the process of transitioning AWAY from the Sigma due to a very high incidence of failures to fire due to mechanical faults. BTW, we were the FIRST agency to be fully equipped with it in the US. Recently, we took delivery of Twelve of the new Tacticals, and had to ship eight back for repairs. I'm on an entry team, and mine had a catastrophic failure at 63 rounds. Luckily, it happened during training...Watch for bulging of the poly frame on the right side just above and behind the trigger. If it bulges, you're screwed....
