SW Model 60: loose rear sight

My wife and I were blasting away at some real hot 357 defense loads at the range the other day. While I was cleaning the gun I noticed that the rear adjustable sight was very loose. We'd rarely shot any 357 or +P out of this gun so it was probably loosened during this session.

Being ignorant about adjustable sights, I just tightened the second screw (the one furthest from the sights) snug with a jeweler's screwdriver. This tightened it up but now there appears to be a little bulge in that piece that holds the sight on the frame.

Am I back to where I was? Did I screw something up? Do I need to resight this otherwise pretty good weapon and if so, any advice or thread links on how to do it? Gracias in advance.

Sounds like there might be some foreign matter under the sight. Got there while it was loose and when you tightened the front screw down you bowed the sight over the crud. Take off, clean and put back together might cure the bow. Count the turns and clicks when takin out the rear screw, get it back closer to right elevation when it goes together again.

You lucky you didn't lose the front screw.

Sam:)
