Anybody have/carry one of these? I know they have been disco'd for the time being from S&W with talk of bringing them (380,9mm) back.

I was never really interested enough to get one when they were readily available but 6 or 8 months ago i was at a show and a dealier had a very poor condition one and after handling it was impressed, but it was so beat I passed.

A few days ago I popped into a shop I very seldem go and he had a NIB massachusettes compliant one forsale.

I have put 175rds through it with out a hitch, accuracy is 4-6in offhand at 15ft. I like it alot. I have been carring it in a UM size 3 pocket holster.

I have seen these mini-Sigmas in both .380 and 9mm. They're certainly compact, but I have read that they have a low service life and are prone to developing cracks in the slides.

To me, the worst thing is the "pinch" magazine release. Yuk.

Still, Pocketman, if you're enjoying the gun, more power to you. Just make sure you check it over at every cleaning, to be sure the metal isn't cracking.

It is the mini version of the sigma, very compact 380 with excellent ergonomics. I had the 9mm vesion a few years ago and liked it alot, never malfunctioned in the 8 or 900 rds I put through
it. I hated the fact it had basicly no sights, but the 380 is more of a true pocket gun, so I don't find the sites as much of an issue.

I got a supper deal on a glock 26 nib for $379.00 and tradded it on that. I think that was 4yrs ago.

I am aware of its limitations and I am pleased with it for the roll I intend to use it for. It is still a S&W product and for all they have done they still make and stand behind a quality product.

I will keep a closer eye on it though during cleaning after each shooting session. ;)

I'm glad you're having good luck with yours. Mine has been sitting in my safe for the past 3 years and hasn't seen the light of day. It won't feed anything except fmj and makes the prettiest 12inch groups of keyholes you ever did see at 10 yrds. I still think it was a pretty good idea, just not made as well as it should have been. (Did I mention I carry a Kel-tec. )

I also had the 9mm version a few years ago.
I couldn't get used to the facts of no last round slide lock, and needing two buddies to take it down for cleaning.
No problems in 200 - 300 rounds.

The lack of features on these guns, and S&W's own admission of a limited service life, make them seem like "throw-down" guns to me.
I would love to see guns in this size and price range made with real S&W quality.

It is still a S&W product and for all they have done they still make and stand behind a quality product.

I'm not so sure about the "stand behind" part, if you purchased the gun used.
I have called and emailed Smith about this, and their line is that "The lifetime warranty only applies to the original owner."
Buyer Beware.

The first owner never shot it or sent in the warrenty card ;)

But..a few years ago I bought 5yr old. mod. 37 that was in very nice shape, after a few hundred rounds I noticed the frame had cracked below the barrel, I took a shot and sent it to S&W to see if they would do anything, and two weeks later they sent me a brandnew mod. 37. I was very impressed.
