i cant find any...seems like they all disappeared. maybe im not looking in the right places, but the only ones ive stumbled across were $6000 collector models with all matching numbers, original scope, all original accessories, etc.

what happened to the $600 ones i used to see? i suddenly have an interest in them (mostly because of the round-7.62x54) and cant seem to find any

I'd like to have another one. I bought one about 10yrs ago, and played with it some, but had some issues with the gas adjustments and traded it off for another craving.
It's the only gun I've ever managed to slam the bolt on my thumb with. I've heard of the "garand thumb" but never experienced it. I've had a "svt-40 thumb".
Yes, I said a bad word when it happened.

didnt even think to check gunbroker. silly me.

....$200 in canada???? are we even talking about the same gun??? that really does make canada seem more attractive. and they will even pay for the stitches when i get "svt thumb" :D

hornetguy, what did you pay for it at the time, if you remember and dont mind telling me?

Bought mine over a decade ago, from a friend, for $125! :D
1942 production, the nicest wood I seen on one of these, functions flawlessly with milsurp ammo, and accurate enough to hit a 2 liter pop bottle at 150yds, offhand!

I honestly don't remember. I traded something for it at a gunshow. I think it was in the "under 300 dollar" range, because I just don't have the discretionary fundage for high dollar guns. I had been looking at them in GunList and Shotgun News, and when I found that one at the gun show, I made a deal. That may be the one I traded my 9mm Firestar for.

There's a lot of ridiculous asking prices for milsurps circulating these days.
You either decide they're "worth it", or not...
For me, most of the time, they're not.

Always a lot of discussion on what a firearm is worth, and the answer is always the same- whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
