Suppressor question for the FL guys

Hopefully someone in here knows the answer to this one-

I just ordered a couple of cans from a company in Texas, and they're currently getting form 3'ed to a dealer here in Tampa. Whenever I've purchased actual firearms from out of state and had an FFL transfer them, Florida laws have required me to pay sales tax. I THINK that's due to it being an actual firearm.

I'm praying that law doesn't apply to suppressors also, anyone know if it does?

Thanks.

Did you buy them from the company in Texas yourself of are you paying your dealer for them? That will determine if you pay sales tax or not.

Of course your home state will ask if you bought anything from out of state when you file your taxes next year and it will be up to you to be honest about those silencers that you didn't want to pay sales tax on...

I paid the guy in Texas for them, but since it looks like they're defined as firearms I'll be paying sales tax on them for 'importing' into Florida.

Thanks guys
