Suppressor Maintenance

Kansas Shooter

New member
Hi All,

I am strongly considering purchasing a KAC NT4 suppressor in the near to distant future and with this being my first can, I was wondering if the maintenance would inhibit any fun it would bring me? This will go on a KAC SR-15 and perhaps would be shared with a MK 18 CQBR upper in the future. I have heard from owners of suppressed pistols that shooting suppressed adds more fouling to their guns, but didn't know if that held true of rifles too.

I know Knight's Armament has a new line of 5.56 and 7.62 suppressors out, and didn't know if it would be worth the wait and extra money for the new ones.

Regards,

Marty

I have always been told that a suppressor takes noise and turns in in to heat and carbon ;).

From what I know yes every gun is more dirty when short with a suppressor.

p.s. I am not an expert I am still waiting for my first suppressor (45/70 rifle)

Yes, the rifle will have more fouling in it when you use a suppressor. If it is an AR type, you may get gas blow back around the charging handle.
