Super Redhawk - Trigger Work

I have a question in regards to the Super Redhawk trigger. My trigger seems to have alot of creep and is rough while shooting in the single action mode. What can I or a competent gunsmith do to smooth out the trigger? I considered the Wolff trigger springs, however I used CCI primers and understand that by adding springs I may have problems with CCI's going off.

I really want to clean up the trigger on this revolver. I really love the SRH however the trigger pull needs work. Sorry about the rookie question, but I'm no gunsmith.

Have you pulled the trigger group out of the frame? Cleaned and lubed it?

The trigger on mine was not great out of the box. I shot it a bit and dry fired it a lot. The double action has lightened up quite a bit.

The single action is great. The biggest problem I had with the single action pull was overtravel. I have a 9 1/2" .44 Mag version, and there was enough weight out front that the overtravel of the trigger would throw my shots off a bit. I installed an overtravel adjustment screw Through the back of the trigger guard. Now the trigger pull is light, short, and very pleasing. Doing this will not adress creep, but it helped the problem I was having.

I would say clean, lube, shoot a lot. If it does not improve, you could have the trigger/hammer engagement points buffed.

I dug out the camera and posted a thread in the gunsmithing forum showing the trigger mod I did. Once again, does not address your problem, but I thought you might be interested.
