Super RedHawk Front Sight

Afternoon,
I'm looking to remove the front sight on SRH. Anyone know how I can do this with out screwing up the finish? I do not plan to reinstall it. Thanx. Michael

I'll double check on mine, but I think you depress the spring loaded button on the front and slide it out

I'm looking to remove the base. I have a scope mounted and would like to get rid if the entire front sight.

Good chance of a screw under that front sight blade, have you looked?

Edit: Looked at Ruger exploded view, show barrel and base as one unit w/o screw. Sorry, maybe a silver solder? I'm past my depth.

Why remove it, its not in the way.

If you're going for the clean look you'll probably have to have it machined off and if it's not stainless, you'll need the gun re-finished to hide the machining.

Personally, I'd leave it on :)

I have a 15 + year old set of Ruger brand, colored plastic front sights for my regular Redhawk. Go on to the Ruger sight and go to sights. It should cost about $15.00 + shipping.
Take a small screwdriver or a punch and press on the pin under the barrel The sight should lift out. If that does not work, E-Mail Ruger and or download their Instruction Manual for the gun and caliber you have.
